Short ride between Azambuja and Lisbon. Planned the night before and with only 3 hours of sleep. We took the 1h train and decided to climb the highest and closest mountain of Lisbon. The easiest way to climb is actually from Vila Verde dos Francos. N115 road ended up being very quiet and safe, crossing endless vineyards. Definitely a place to explore and enjoy. Thank you João for your patience,...

I met Rui who invited me to explore the mountains and sleep in Mondego headwaters. The plan was to cross Serra da Estrela and Serra do Açor and end in Pombal. Unfortunately I couldn't record the 3 day trip so this is just the first day. Neverthless it was an amazing trip that I highly recommend. Assino por baixo .........é incrivel ninguem respeita é escusado na ciclovia anda tudo e mais alguma coisa !!!
Dogs on a long leash stretched across the path blocking both bikes and pedestrians are the worst. They just look at you and can’t understand what’s wrong.
Musix suckks bro.rest is good
people are stupid selfish and feel entitled
este vídeo tinha som, certo? Agora não tem.
Ainda tem, em que parte diz não ter?
Estranho quando voltei a ver já tem 😅, mas no minuto 3:06 ja não tem e depois volta
How did you find a local guide? I’m going in June and was going to do my own tour with my bike but this might be a better plan. How much did you pay? Thanks 🙏🏽
With your attitude, you're a danger to other road users and shouldn't be allowed on a bike. The people you deride as weekend cyclists are much better cyclists than you.
Sick!!!!
Tu escreveu errado, "a cyclist in lisbon"
Tanto “a cyclist” como “one cyclist” estão corretos, o que não está correto é “tu escreveu”
3:19 if only!
I'm in Dallas, Texas, I wish I had your problems. Cars reign supreme here, and idiots in them.
cyclists are c*nts.
that explosion at 0:30 looks fake
Ansioso para a temporada 2024!
Now I wanna go there. Grrat video. Thanks for sharing.
Ramming speed!
Minute 4:24 I think they are an English couple, driving in "their" right way of the lane.
ua-cam.com/video/ogG_4CQiou0/v-deo.html I remember jogging down here and back to Ericeira, really nice place and alot of sairs :D. Was also contemplating to mountianbike along the cliff-sides, but ended up taking a tour with Ericeira bike, which was amazing!
Loved your piece, I’m a cyclist but the historical anecdotes made it whole. Thanks for sharing.
I hate bicycles speeding where pedestrians are.
I'd love a map of your route on the road bike. I'd love that.
www.strava.com/activities/7926348655 , on the description :P
wow, does Lisbon not have a citywide speed limit? So many cars going at dangerous speeds aeound the 4 minute mark
Love your Videos, you have such a great sense of humour and seem to enjoy riding your bike so much! Where is that last scene taken?
Thank you :) The one with the vineyards?
@@onecyclistinlisbon yes, it looks so great.
Thanks for this, we're planning a 2 week tour/gravel ride from Porto to Faro this April, think we'll include this.
There's some psychology going on with close passes - drivers tend to leave the same amount of space on the outside of the cyclist as the cyclist has left themselves on the inside. They have a picture on their head of a space with the cyclist in the middle. The closer the cyclist is to the side of the road, the smaller that space will be. Don't cycle too close to the side and if there isn't enough space for a car and a cyclist, take the middle of the lane to stop the pass - they are highly unlikely to deliberately run you over (this is not legally binding advice)
bom trabalho o
Nice video! I love cycling but I’m a bit afraid of cycling in Lisbon, both because of the terrain and the vehicles + delivery bikers traffic. But I’m buying my MTB in the next months, definitely
This is part of why I carry a whistle
I stopped street cycling in the '70s. It is TOO dangerous.
Them mobile phone using zombies are everywhere in London. Especially in central London where a lot of tourist flock. Most of the zombies are tourists.
❤❤❤
healthy kid with good eyesight can't even see a big hole in front of him
Thanks for the English
3:38 es como Plaza Italia de Chile, 😮 tiene el mismo pilar
Love the video. Lisbon is one of my favorite cities of all time. And thanks for showing @zeroenigma that people are the same wherever you go, but you still don't have to be an A-hole about it.
Nice to see you posting again. What is the beeping I hear is that your camera saving the moment or one of your trackers?
It's the garmin alarm when it recognizes there was a crash.
Hello, thanks for the video, very nice ride. I plan to do it next march (2024). Do you have the gpx tracks for it? I was suppose to follow the eurovelo 1 from Lisbon, but I like the way you did it with ferries and train. Is it complicated to use ferries and train with bikes? Thanks from Quebec. and thanks for your channels, a lot of nice idea for travelling by bike in Portugal from real cyclist.
Hi! It was a long time ago but is still a great bike ride! You can take the gpx of the ride from here : web.bikemap.net/r/6551371 To save time and avoid a lot of traffic around Lisbon area I decided to jump into Setubal. For that you can take a train in Lisbon Sete Rios to Pinhal Novo (intercity and you need to book a bike seat for free in advance) and then another one to Setubal (urban train, no need to book just get in and its also free for the bicycle) OR like I did in the video, take the boat from Cais do Sodré to Barreiro and then a train direct to Setúbal (also urban train, free..). From Setúbal you take the ferry to Tróia Cais Sul where the cars go (not Troia, that's a boat just for people). Bikes don't pay extra on boats, either in Lisbon or in Setúbal. The ride starts there. On the route I shared with you the only thing I would change is the route between Lagos and Tavira. Avoid as much as you can the national road named N125. It's very dangerous, very busy and very boring. Consider taking a longer route between villages and villas to avoid it. March is less busy than during summer but still I would avoid it. You also have the train line but is a bit old and way less frequent than the other trains in Portugal. I actually have a 2020 video right before covid hit Europe between Lisbon and Lagos with a friend : ua-cam.com/video/jTYoGsjfDrg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=OneCyclistinLisbon We avoided going to Sagres by climbing part of a mountain. If you have more questions, feel free to ask me.
@@onecyclistinlisbon thanks you very much to take time and give all the information, very appreciate. It make my travel more real now, and thanks for the advise not to use route 125. muito obrigado - merci beaucoup
@@onecyclistinlisbon One more question, if you don.t mind. I will be 3 days in Lisboa at the beiginning of my trip, can you suggest me a neighbourhood in lisboa not to far from the international airport, and a neighbourhood not too touristic. Obrigado.
@@micheljalette8144 The city is not that big and from the airport to downtown it's only 8-9 km. I would say the area of Campo Pequeno, Alvalade, Areeiro.. is quiet and almost in the middle. You're welcome!
Streetcar tracks within cobble stone. Every cyclists nightmare.
Yes but with time we learn how to cross it
The more i see those places, the more i want to travel there!
:D
Drugs are fun, but only sometimes.
Right ahahah
Kinda jealous of Charlie's KTM ^_^
Was it an alive tiger?
No but the drivers sometimes are
Interestingly, on thisman's website they display a completely different face from the one you saw on the street sign.
""come on, I TOLD you"
Migi is alive 😍👍
Quite alive ahah
Those "bike lanes" in the middle of the street aren´t even bike lanes, just limited to 30 km/h to favor use by both bikes and cars. No car uses them under the speed limit and police wont enforce the limits. They are there just to say we have some bike infraestructure
That's the reason biking is fun in cities, you see so much weird stuff and can just stop by if something catches your eye :D
Exactly
Lovely video. A bit of everything. I only spent a bit of time in Madrid and didn't see any bike infrastructure. You should visit Barcelona. It's not perfect, but definitely better than Madrid for cycling.
Yes, Barcelona is way better
Question: What is the pros and cons of living in Lisbon ? Thanks
It depends of what you care. Give me examples.
